another January on the way...

We've made it through Christmas and now it's almost a NEW YEAR!  Wow!  2010 has gone by so fast!  Any exciting New Year's plans???

I should've been in a ROCK BAND!

last night my big boss had a party at her house since she's lasted 6 months as the executive director (she's my fourth ED in less than three years, so this is a big deal!).  we ate lots and played Rock Band.  I've never played before and now I don't know why!  it was so much fun.  I played the guitar most of the time, as I was way better at doing that than the guitar (or singing, God forbid).  I had a blast but I woke up today and my wrists and arms hurt soooooo bad!  I can barely move my wrist, let alone type this!  so here's some pics to leave you with!

I've been wanting to buy a house for myself and my boys for a little while now just have been procrastinating on doing it.  but as of this past Monday, I'm officially, sorta looking!  I've contacted a real estate agent and am on my way to owning my first home!

my lease in the apartment I live at now ends in May, so I want/need to be out by then!  I'm so excited and can't wait to get this process really moving!

I had a great Christmas! my family and I went on a 7 day cruise to the Virgin Islands. it was beautiful and great to get away to the warm weather for a little while. I'm back to work tomorrow...

Friday, November 27, REX'S BIRTHDAY!

so Friday, November 27, 2009 is my sweet little Rex's 2nd Birthday! He is so wonderful and special to me. Rex has grown so much in the last 2 years, from a tiny little baby to a big bundle of joy!

I had a great day today getting pedicures and going shopping with friends. these last few weeks at work have been very hectic, so it was nice to relax. and I've been good on my promise to myself to do no online shopping! now, I did bid on an auction online, but it benefits the Family Abuse Center (where I work!) so I think it's ok!

so here I am sitting at home on the couch feeling like poo. I did try to go to work today though but was sent home! out of 35 kids at the shelter only 5 were healthy today! wow. the flu is rampant around here. the only good thing is that it's storming outside! such a great time to be home and sleeping, which is exactly what I'm about to do. but real quick...

if these dogs beds weren't so expensive, I would love to have one for my boys!

what a weekend!

this last weekend I got some horrible, crazy news. my older sister, Lisa, needed surgery. major surgery. and they were not sure she was going to make it. so, Thursday evening I went home to Spring so I could be there Friday for her surgery. everything went fine. a robot performed the surgery, which makes the chances of bleeding out much less, and she got to go home this morning. obviously she's in a lot of pain, but thank God she's alive!

this weekend, Sunday, was also my little brother's birthday and he got a new car!

he loves it and I drove it around a little Thursday night. love it!

then we went to eat at Kobe's for Brandon's birthday and we ate some great sushi and I even tried escargots for the first time! not bad...


and last but certainly not least, today I helped Sydney, my niece, make mums for her homecoming!


the mum on the bottom was one we made for her friend. I hope they'll love them! and now I'm back in Waco, sitting around, catching up on House. ready to go to bed and back to work tomorrow :)
