so New Year's Eve I hung out with friends, played Mario Bros on Wii and watched a movie.  Stranger then Fiction.   Will Ferrell plays a more serious role so at first, I wasn't sure I would be able to get into it but as the movie progressed, I got more and more into it.

here's a synopsis from IMDB:

Everybody knows that your life is a story. But what if a story was your life? Harold Crick is your average IRS agent: monotonous, boring, and repetitive. But one day this all changes when Harold begins to hear an author inside his head narrating his life. The narrator it is extraordinarily accurate, and Harold recognizes the voice as an esteemed author he saw on TV. But when the narration reveals that he is going to die, Harold must find the author of the story, and ultimately his life, to convince her to change the ending of the story before it is too late.
The following quote comes after the author discusses the ending of the book with a professor and the professor says he does not like the ending of the book the author decided to finally go with.

"Because it's a book about a man who doesn't know he's about to die. And then dies. But if a man does know he's about to die and dies anyway. Dies- dies willingly, knowing that he could stop it, then- I mean, isn't that the type of man who you want to keep alive?"

I would recommend this movie to anyone.  so good.  you should check it out!

another year!

yesterday was my 26th birthday! and it was great. my mom came to town Wednesday night and stayed the night, as did my good friend, Dick. It was so great to spend my birthday with two people who mean a lot to me. Wednesday night we watched Marley and Me. amazing movie. definitely a tear-jerker. I had already read the book though, so I knew what was going to happen.

I took the day off work Thursday to spend my birthday with my mom and friends. it was great to have a relaxing day shopping, eating, watching tv, and not worrying about everything else!

and here's a wonderful quote from Marley and Me...

"A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water logged stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?"

Bride Wars

so i just got done watching Bride Wars.

good movie! but, the best part was almost at the very end when Marion St. Claire said this...

"Sometimes in life there really are bonds formed that can never be broken. Sometimes you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you'll find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding, but there's also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime, the one person who knows you sometimes better than you know yourself is the same person who's been standing beside you all along."

i love that quote. go watch the movie :)
