oh how I wish I could take them all...

breaks my heart...

so much going on...

a lot has happened in the past month.  I actually decided to not buy a house and just lease.  if things break or something happens, I have a landlord to fix it and it's just easier overall to continue to leave.  so, with that being said, I have signed a lease in Robinson, Texas!  I'm moving next month into a brand-spanking-new duplex - three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big back yard and a two car garage.  I'm super excited and so are the boys!

since I'm moving, and will have a yard, I want to get another dog.  a bigger one.  a German Shepherd.  but I want to rescue one.  even if it's a mix.  and today I went to the Waco Humane Society to meet one of the dogs with my boys.  unfortunately, it wasn't going to work out between the three dogs, but tomorrow I am going to meet another German Shepherd mix rescue pup.  I really hope it works out!

I do have to say it was really hard being at the animal shelter today.  as I walked down the aisle of kennels, I felt like every dog was staring at me and yelling "please pick me, please, please, please."  it was so hard to not take every single last one of them home with me.  really hard.

time to watch the Blind Side though...good night :)

the ELEPHANT in the room...

if you know me at all, you know that I love ELEPHANTS! and to be honest, I really don't have a good, adult-like explanation as to why.  I just remember when Bo was little, one of his favorite toys was an elephant and ever since then, I try to buy him and Rex elephant toys.  Also, every time I go on vacation, I try to find a cute little ceramic/metal/whatever elephant to bring back for my collection that I stated about 2 years ago.  I have about 10 elephants, ranging in size, displayed on a bookcase in my apartment.  I also have lots of stuffed animal elephants that I have put up to be displayed because they are too cute to let Bo and Rex play with and destroy!  I randomly found the following pics online and just had to save and share them!  who wouldn't love ELEPHANTS!!!

crazy loves crazy

so i had a very crazy, random weekend. i only had Saturday off from work and was really looking forward to relaxing. i woke up early Saturday morning and went and got my hair colored. i was hoping i wasn't going to have to drive to Teague (for my family's company) and when i found out i for sure wasn't going to have to i was thrilled.

i went home and finished a scrapbook i had started a really really long time ago. as i was cleaning up after myself, i accidentally knocked over a tall vase i have on the floor next to my couch in the living room. i cleaned it up and put it in a Walmart plastic bag. the bag started breaking so i decided to put that in a trash bag. i put the trash bag down on the kitchen floor and when i went to pick it up, my hand went right down onto a piece of glass that was sticking up. in between my thumb and pointer finger! it started gushing blood and my hand started tingling. i put my hand under running water then went and got the peroxide but i couldn't tell how bad the cut was. since my hand was tingling i thought the worst. i grabbed a dish towel, held it in my hand to control the bleeding and went to the ER. i was really dreading this but after two stitches and a tetanus shot, i was ready to go home - in only 1 hour!

then, when i got home my AC wasn't working - AGAIN! maintenance had already been by earlier Saturday to fix it. i called again and they said they would send someone to check it out. eventually i just went to bed and when i woke up this morning it was still horribly hot! i called maintenance again, got ready for work, and headed out. a few minutes later i get a call saying the AC is out and they might have to order parts but until then there is nothing they can do. do you know how hot it is in my apartment?!?!?! i didn't wanna keep my poor doggies in that heat so they are at a friend's house for the night and i may have to go somewhere else to stay too. wtf!!!

otherwise, my day off was good. had a good dinner with a friend and caught up on laundry.

hopefully the week ahead will be better though :)

Wet N' Wild Day at Dogtopia!

today at Dogtopia was Wet N' Wild Day! my boys had so much fun! they got to play in kiddie pools, a sprinkler and even even got doggie ice cream! apparently Rex wasn't too thrilled with the water but Bo loved it! they were super exhausted when we got home!

end of a great weekend...

i had a great weekend this weekend and actually a great whole week. i got a lot done at work and i was off Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! Friday, i went to Corsicana and visit with a friend who's moved away. she has an adorable almost one year old son, Samuel, and i'm so in love with him! if allll kids were just like him, i would have 10!!

then, Saturday i spent some time shopping with a friend from work then hanging out Saturday night with a friend from Temple. nothing too exciting happened this weekend but it was so great to hang out with good friends and relax!

this next Tuesday is Wet-N-Wild day at Dogtopia! i got my boys bathing suits and they are soooo ready for the fun!

crazy, wonderful weekend!

yes. i had a crazy, wonderful weekend. as i mentioned earlier, the boys and i attended the Waco Humane Society's Paws in the Park on Saturday. it was soooo hot outside but the boys had fun and even got their pictures taken...check out numbers 49, 101 and 104!

oh, and while you're there, check out Taryn and i at the Family Abuse Center's Annual Luncheon!

then, today (Sunday) i met my wonderful Mom (Happy Mother's Day!!) and Kim in San Marcos to help my little move out of her dorm. and wow, she is messy!! but i still love her :)

so now i'm at home being super lazy, relaxing with dogs, preparing for another week at work!

Paws in the Park!

so Bo and Rex had their dog party at Dogtopia last Saturday! They had sooo much fun!

I didn't get too many good pictures (the dogs were all over the place and completely uninterested in taking pictures). But they had lots of their friends there, played games, and wore themselves out.

most people who know me at all, know how much i love dogs! i have two, Bo and Rex, and want many many more! i'm in a dog mood right now, as i plan for and get ready for my boys dog party this weekend at Dogtopia! so, here's a few of the other types of dogs i would love to have...

chinese crested.

i realize most people think these dogs are hideous, but i think that's what makes them so adorable! and no, it doesn't bother me at all that it is usually a chinese crested that wins the ugliest dog contest every year.

cavalier king charles.i think these dogs are absolutely precious. i love their long hair and huge eyes. i would love to have a multi-colored (brown, black and white) little girl one day.

italian greyhound.

one day, once i have a big yard, i would love to adopt a greyhound. and if not, get an italian greyhound. i think these dogs are beautiful and graceful and i would love to 'save a greyhound.'

dalmation.omg. these dogs are just adorable. i love all the spots all over. they're bigger dogs, so i would have to have a yard, but they are super playful and fun.

so there you have it. a few of the dogs i would love to have. of course there are more but those are the top few. did i mention i want some cats too...like a bengal or a sphynx?!?! i know, i'm crazy but what can i say?! i love animals!!

now it's Friday night...

and i'm at a friend's house dog/house sitting. i'm kinda bored too. it's just weird not being at my own house and the fact that i am here with no one else but four dogs! yes, four dogs! a huge Great Dane, two Chihuahuas, and a Yorkie. oh and a cat! but everyone seems to be getting along for the most part. there are a few growls and hisses every once in a while, but other than that, we're all good :) Bo is actually doing better here around the Great Dane than he ever has before.

i'm super exhausted (even though i did get a great, long nap after work) so i'm about to go get in bed, curl up with the book i'm reading right now, and hopefully sleep good tonight. i have to get up early tomorrow (on a Saturday and my only day off this week) so an early bed time sounds really good right about now.

oh, and guess what?!?! Bo and Rex went to Dogtopia this past Tuesday for Yorkshire Kingdom day (they have dog breed days every once in while; and yes, Rex went too even though it was Yorkie day, i couldn't leave him home alone while his brother had fun!) and Bo won a full day of daycare at the half day price! go BO!!! i'm so glad a place like Dogtopia is available here in Waco and my dogs absolutely love going there. they have so much fun and are exhausted when they get home!
