we can all dream
when (not if!) I have my dream home, it will definitely include a library. an amazing library! and of course a craft room. I have a craft room now but I can't wait to have a huge craft room outfitted with tons of stuff and storage and of course organized. the following pics are a glimpse of what perfection looks like...
(most pics found at one of my fav blogs and a few just by googling!)

my latest crafty thing
my family was in Waco and stayed at my place for Thanksgiving. while we were sitting in the living room watching TV, my mom made the comment that my living room needed to be rearranged. so, we did some rearranging and realized I now had room for two bar stools. we found some but not in the right color to match my stuff. they were really cheap so we went ahead and bought them. today after work, I went to JoAnn Fabrics and found some super great deep purple velour fabric. so here's what I did (the pictures don't do it all justice)...
it was super easy! and I love them! now it's on to my next project :)
here's what the bar stool looked like to begin with.
here's the only tools it took and of course the fabric I found!
and voila! the finished bar stool!

some happenings as of late...
I was home this past weekend. It was my mom's birthday, my 9 year sobriety anniversary and my little sister's birthday! while I was home, my mom, dad, little brother and I went to the shooting range and shot my gun for a while...
and since I now have this new obsession with all things gardening and plants, I bought this plant this weekend and it's now sitting on my kitchen table...
my little brother, Brandon, shooting...he got a bullseye!
and me shooting!
also, while I was home, my mom and I did some crafting/painting. not only did we make me the cutest wreath for my front door, we painted an old ladder she found laying around for my back yard!

I just hope I don't kill it...
now I have so many shows on my DVR to catch up on so it's TV time :)

another craft project
I recently found a website with cute stuff and craft ideas. while browsing, I came across this and just had to make one for myself! I went by Hobby Lobby today after work and got some yarn, a wreath and felt and came home and got straight to work. I need to make more little pom poms, but so far here's what I got...
I chose red, black and purple yarn to match my living room as I have black leather couches and red and purple accent pillows! I can't wait to get it finished and hang it up!

it's the busiest time of the year...
but Christmas is right around the corner! and I can't wait! I've definitely super busy at work, but only have four more days of work until my family and I go on a cruise for Christmas! so exciting!
a long time ago, I bought some clear glass ornament balls with no idea what I was going to do with them. I just figured eventually I would come up with a use for them. and Voila! I did. I used paint and paint pens and decorated them as gifts for Christmas! I made myself one, one for each of my boys, one for my momma and a few others for friends! here's what the boy's ornaments look like...

each one has their first initial on it with a bone, a paw print and lots of stars. and they were super easy to make!
anyhow, back to the tv and relaxing!

my latest project
I went to Laverty's (an antique shop in Waco) today and bought an old worn out window frame. After taking the glass panes out, I sanded and painted it and hung it in my living room!

The wall needed something on it since I moved in. And I'm so glad I finally took care of the space.

wow, it's been a while
and sooooo much has happened! I've been really trying to be a little more crafty lately too and I've gotten a lot done! I also picked up the pieces I did last weekend at Practically Pikasso...check it out!
It turned out a lot cuter than I thought it would :)
This most recent weekend I went home Saturday-Sunday and had a great time. Friday was my mom's b-day, Saturday was my 8-year anniversary of being sober, and Sunday was my little sister's b-day. We had a great dinner out together and got some shopping done! While shopping I bought some more stuff to paint with and as soon as I got home Sunday night I did this...

The two above are the finished products! One side says IN and one side says OUT. I made them for myself and a co-worker to put on out office doors at work!
have a good day!

great weekend...
i had a great weekend...
i was off (sorta) Friday, Saturday and Sunday! my niece, Sydney came to town to visit and we had lots of fun! Friday we watched THREE movies (He's Just Not That Into You, What Happens in Vegas, and Bride Wars) and crafted.
we woke up early Saturday to go to Glen Rose, TX to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. it was awesome...we had a zebra follow my car for more food, a bill goat gruff looking thing get upset because we quit feeding him and he decided to gnaw at my car door handle and lots of other animals. i would totally recommend this place to anyone!
then i had to go to work at 7 pm...just until 10 pm though!
and Sunday morning i got a phone call from work (i was on-call all weekend) and someone didn't show up for their shift so at 7 am i headed to work...only until 9:15 am, thank goodness!
then we headed to Practically Pikasso. again, i have never been to this place before either, but it was so cool. we both painted two pieces and i can pick them up Thursday. so fun!
i had a long, great weekend with my niece and i look forward to doing it again :)

feelin' a little crafty!
so yesterday, for some odd reason, i was feelin' a little crafty and decided to paint a stool for my office. i usually pull out one of the lower desk drawers and prop my feet up on it, but i figured i would eventually break it by doing that and i was not going to be responsible for doing so. and i needed a good excuse to spend more money!

so, i painted me a cute little stool!
i definitely like to think i have a little bit of the crafty gene in me :)
